RESIDENTIAL INTERIOR DESIGN PROJECT

THE LOTUS HOUSE

Conceptual Design for a fully sustainable modular unit at a new affordable housing complex.

CONCEPT & INSPIRATION:

THE RISING OF THE LOTUS

With its roots in the mud, the lotus flower’s strong stem rises up through the waters so that its flower can bloom in the sun. At dark, the petals close and it retreats back under the murky water from which it came. At dawn, it rises again. Chinese poets have used it to inspire those going through difficult circumstances to show a brave face to the world. The lotus shows us how something beautiful and bright can come from a darker place.
